Pride-movie: Funeral Parade of Roses

With co-operation with North Karelia Movie Association we present fully restored cult classic Funeral Parade of Roses. Japanese drama film directed and written by Toshio Matsumoto, loosely adapted from Oedipus Rex and set in the underground gay culture of 1960s Tokyo.

Film stars Peter as the protagonist, a young transgender woman. A product of the Japanese New Wave, the film combines elements of arthouse, documentary and experimental cinema, and is thought to have influenced Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation of Anthony Burgess’ novel A Clockwork Orange (1971)

Pride-disco right after the band night at Kerubi’s basement from 22 onwards! Admission free with North Karelia Seta’s membership card.

Joensuu Social Democratic Youth, Joensuu area Left Youth and Joensuu Green Youth bring you an amazing banner workshop and an event as part of the North-Karelia Pride-week! Welcome to Joensuu Työväentalo to paint and draw a Pride banner of your dreams! Let your inner artist take control, we will provide the paints, markers and the canvas. The finished banner will be a part of the Pride march on Saturday 25th. On top of the banner workshop, we also have tasty food and snacks as well as a wide variety of board games to play and hang out with us!
